Job summary

evolo seeks a senior leader to own and grow our embedded software/firmware team for next-generation energy storage platforms. You will shape technical direction, drive architecture, and own delivery across BMS, EMS, and power electronics while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and external partners.

You will be hands-on where it matters, mentor engineers, and build CI/CD, testing, and release discipline to scale the organization and product quality as the company expands globally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in embedded software or firmware development.
• 3+ years leading technical teams or managing engineers.
• Strong C/C++ experience.
• RTOS and embedded Linux experience.
• Solid grasp of real-time systems, debugging, and hardware/software integration.
• Experience bringing commercial or industrial products from concept through production.
• Confidence using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, CAN tools, and debuggers.
• Low-ego, high-ownership leadership style.

We are working with a fast-growing clean energy business that is building something genuinely ambitious: next-generation, utility-scale energy storage.

This is not a standard management hire. We are looking for someone who wants to step into a pivotal leadership role, take ownership of a proven embedded software/firmware team of six, and help shape what this function becomes over the next few years and beyond. The right person will not just manage the team, they will help define the technical direction, raise the bar, and play a central role in the company’s next stage of growth.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead embedded software and firmware development across the company’s ESS platform, working closely with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Power Electronics, BMS, Manufacturing, and external partners.
