Job summary

Shield AI invites motivated engineering graduates to join our Summer Internship program in the Embedded Software team, where you will work on avionics software that blends hardware, operating systems, and applications for cutting-edge UAVs. You’ll gain hands-on mentorship, contribute to real projects, and may receive a future job offer.

You’ll develop high-quality C/C++ code, participate in architecture reviews, and collaborate across teams including GNC, sensors, and Autonomy AI to deliver

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of coursework towards a degree in a related field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer)
• Strong C/C++ background
• Experience in bare-metal firmware development for embedded systems
• Experience in a collaborative development environment with CI/CD & unit testing
• Familiarity with version control (git) and build systems (CMake or similar)
• Demonstrated record of hard work, good communication, trustworthy teammate, kind to others

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality C/C++ code
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
• Integrate software from multiple departments including firmware and GCS
• Develop software to interface with avionics sensors and payloads
• Assist in updating software system architecture
