Job summary

Shield AI is seeking Autonomous Software Engineers for full-time roles starting in 2027. This paid, in-person opportunity targets students graduating in 2026–2027 and reviewing applications for post-graduation starts in 2027.

You will design and ship C++/Python features, write embedded firmware for real-time UAVs, and build tests and tooling to validate autonomous software across mission planning, perception, and control tasks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in CS/Robotics/EE, graduating 2026–2027.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and ship C++ and/or Python features and tools with mentors.
• Write embedded firmware in C/C++ for real-time UAV software.
• Develop tests, reporters, and tooling in Python to validate software behavior.
• Work on autonomy software—planning, perception, or decision-making.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and feature ownership.
