Job summary

RTX is seeking students and early-career professionals for on-site Goleta, CA roles focusing on real-time embedded software development. You will work in an Agile team to develop, test, and deliver software for Advanced Sensors and Electronic Warfare programs, using C/C++, Linux, and Python-based CI/CD tooling. The position requires U.S.

citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. 60 credit hours and a path toward a STEM degree are expected, with emphasis on object-oriented

• Minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience with object-oriented software development in C, C++, or similar languages.

What You Will Do

• This is a 100% onsite position in Goleta, CA. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced STEM degree and entering junior, senior, or graduate standing by Summer 2027.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience with object-oriented software development in C, C++, or similar languages.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Exposure to CI/CD tools (such as Jenkins) and configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory).
• Familiarity with software development in Linux environments.
• Experience with hardware/software integration or working in lab environments with physical hardware (test benches, simulators).
• Hands-on experience developing device drivers or real-time embedded/RTOS applications.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and memory management.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a technical team to solve complex problems.

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
