Embedded Software Engineer – Level 5GPI Program, Chandler, AZ

This is a 100% onsite role located in Chandler, AZ and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

Relocation assistance may be available. Travel required: Yes, 10% of the time. Clearance required for start: Yes. Clearance type: Secret.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensure software standards are met.

In This Job, You Will:

• Have object‑oriented software development experience in C/C++ on a Linux environment.
• Have embedded real‑time software development, debug and test experience.
• Have experience with real‑time operating systems (RTOS) environments including VxWorks, Integrity, LynxOS, Yocto Linux, or other equivalent RTOS.
• Have experience with the full software development lifecycle.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 10 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 8 years of professional experience.
• U.S. Citizenship with an active, in‑scope Secret level clearance at time of application.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PowerPC, ARM, and/or RISC‑V architecture.
• Experience in design, integration and testing with real‑time computer‑in‑loop and hardware‑in‑loop test laboratories.
• Experience in developing interfaces to support system hardware integration efforts.
• Experience with CI/CD such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years.

Job Details

• Work schedule: 9/80 – 9 hours per day, Monday to Thursday, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 – $221,500.00. Base salary offers are determined by factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives for VP or Director positions. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off for vacation and personal business.
