Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Horsham, PA, seeks a senior embedded software engineer to design and develop software features for optical networking systems. You will work across validation, integration, and field teams to deliver robust firmware and platform components with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

You should have a university degree in EE or CS, 8+ years in embedded software, plus 5+ years in optical networking and strong C/C++ expertise. English communication required; Chinese is a plus.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded software systems.
• 5+ years in Optical Networking (L0/L1) equipment.
• Familiar with LLDP, OSPF, BGP and other networking protocols.
• Expert in C and C++ in embedded systems and Linux multi-process design.
• CI/CD, DevOps practices across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software features based on customer and product requirements.
• Develop new features for existing and future products.
• Resolve bugs and sustain legacy products.
• Coordinate with validation, integration, and field teams to improve performance and processes.
• Ensure firmware documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Coach junior engineers and drive code reviews.
• Engage in pre/post sales support and provide guidance to Field Application Engineers.
• Contribute input to documentation.
