Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for Mossville, IL. You will design, develop, and deliver low-level embedded software for Next Gen ECUs used in NPI programs. Gather requirements, write code, and test across platforms, working within the Platform software team.

The role requires an Accredited BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering and strong skills in C/C++, RTOS, and debugging. Relocation assistance is available and onsite work is required.

Qualifications

Solid experience in design, development and testing of low-layer embedded software.
Experience with RTOS integrations and embedded drivers is preferred.
Familiarity with communication networks (CAN/Ethernet, J1939).
Proficient in debugging and code reviews to ensure quality.
Knowledge of Agile software processes and teamwork.

Gather and analyze functional and technical requirements.
Prepare and peer-review design proposals.
Write and implement embedded system code and improve samples.
Test and debug embedded software to optimize performance.
