Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for the Leo MAC project in Redmond to design, develop, and test ground- and satellite-facing firmware. You will implement Kuiper-MAC firmware components, optimize performance, and collaborate across teams to meet mission requirements in a real-time embedded setting.

You will work on RTOS or bare-metal environments, create tests, and help shape FW-HW interfaces while following best practices in software architecture and development processes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate and bring up Kuiper-MAC FW components/drivers in a real-time embedded environment.

Project LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a member of LEO MAC-SW, you will be responsible for delivering embedded FW code running on ground networks on customer terminals and on satellites. You would be focused on designing, developing and testing complete LEO-MAC FW. You will be a key member of a cross functional team of innovators, working on unique wireless technology that will enable millions of people to stay connected.

The Role
