Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (LabVIEW) in Milpitas, CA to lead embedded software architecture for safety-critical medical devices. You will drive design, development, and validation within a cross-functional team, ensuring quality and compliance across the full software lifecycle.

The role requires LabVIEW expertise, strong communication, and the ability to manage external vendors while delivering robust firmware and software solutions for next-generation vision

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or higher
• Experience with LabVIEW RT or LabVIEW FPGA modules is required
• Software/firmware development for embedded systems
• Hardware/software integration and issue resolution
• Proficiency in LabVIEW under Windows or Linux
• Experience with SDLC, code reviews, and software release
• Experience with at least one full cycle of commercial product release

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software architecture, design, and development for safety-critical medical device application
• Develop code as part of larger software development projects and evaluate options
• Follow end-to-end software/firmware development lifecycle including requirements, design, and testing
• Troubleshoot to resolve system, hardware, and software issues with data analysis
• Oversee development and deliverables from outsourced vendors
• Serve as subject matter expert and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Adhere to Johnson & Johnson Credo and leadership principles
