You will gain hands-on experience building and testing firmware, debugging with oscilloscopes and JTAG, and collaborating with hardware and controls engineers while contributing to production-ready documentation and processes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Coursework or project experience in C, C++, or Rust; comfort with low-level code.
• Some exposure to embedded systems, microcontrollers, or digital logic.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, or CAN is a plus.
• Exposure to battery management systems (BMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist real-time control firmware development for bare-metal platforms.
• Help develop and test drivers for MCU peripherals (SPI, CAN, Ethernet).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to map controls theory to embedded code on Cortex-R/M.
• Gain exposure to BMS interfaces and safety limits in firmware.
• Assist in building/testing firmware and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
