Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks S/W Embedded Engineering Interns for the Mission Systems sector in Annapolis, MD. You will join the Naval & Oceanic Systems unit and contribute to the development, test and sustainment of state-of-the-art subsea systems.

You’ll design digital logic, gain hands-on lifecycle exposure, and collaborate with seasoned engineers while pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. The internship runs ~10 weeks in Summer 2027 in a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student and will be enrolled in Fall 2027.
• Majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related STEM field.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Able to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital logic for mission solutions.
• Gain hands-on exposure to the programmable logic full lifecycle: design, simulation, implementation, verification, integration.
• Implement and debug designs in simulations and on real hardware.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to solve design challenges and learn best practices.
• Engage in a full lifecycle approach– design, implementation, test verification, production of digital electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
