Job summary

Columbus McKinnon is seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop embedded software for new and existing products in Wisconsin. You will create functional designs, plan implementations, and work with customers to meet specifications while aligning with quality, efficiency, and cost targets.

The role requires 2 years of embedded programming experience and familiarity with industrial controls. You may travel to customer sites for start-up, contribute to manuals and standards, and collaborate

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related field.
2 years’ experience with embedded software programming.
2 years’ experience with Industrial Controls and/or Material Handling products is preferred.

Responsibilities

Modify existing software for new and existing applications.
Design software structures and control algorithms, and prepare proposals for new products.
Travel to customer sites for start-up of new products (rare).
Evaluate competitor products to determine advantageous technologies.
Develop engineering manuals, standards, and methods.
Participate on cross functional teams to improve processes, productivity and quality.
Maintain technical competency and stay current in technology and changes in the industry.
