Job summary

Platform Aerospace is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer III to design, develop, and test embedded software for aircraft applications. You will collaborate with hardware and systems teams to define requirements and ensure robust integration.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software, proficiency in C, C++, assembly; RTOS expertise; and knowledge of DO-178C. Occasional travel and ability to obtain security clearance are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, Aerospace, or related field with 5+ years of embedded software experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and assembly language.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded development tools.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and DO-178C knowledge.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded software for aerospace systems and components.

• Develop and maintain software documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

We are seeking a talented and experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software for aircraft applications. This role requires a strong background in embedded systems and a passion for innovation in the aerospace industry.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded development tools.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations, such as DO-178C.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Occasional travel may be required to support testing and integration activities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
