Job summary

Genalyte, Inc. in San Diego seeks a Software Engineer II to design and develop embedded software powering the Merlin blood-testing product, and to interface with a cloud-hosted data platform.

You will work on device-to-cloud interfaces, use C/C++/C#/Python and .NET, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a mostly on-site role.

The base salary ranges from $107,000 to $125,000 per year, with meaningful equity participation, an annual target bonus plan, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or similar field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to author and present technical documents.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience in life sciences/medical device development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Developing software components and integrating them into larger systems.
• Developing software tools to facilitate software testing and integration activities.
• Developing and executing software test protocols and generating test reports.
• Troubleshooting issues related to system functionality and performance.
• Contributing to cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
