Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II - Silent Knight Radar to join the Surveillance Sensor RF Solutions Engineering Team in the Dallas, TX area. This onsite role focuses on real-time embedded software design, development and testing for advanced radar systems.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in embedded software, strong C++, Python scripting, and experience with RTOS such as VxWorks, Linux, along with Agile/DevSecOps practices and security clearance eligibility. U.S.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
• Experience in computer scripting languages such as Python/Shell/Perl.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
• Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
• Occasional opportunity for business-related travel
• This job is onsite in McKinney, TX (TX190); applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.
