Job summary

Lennox in Carrollton, TX is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software components for Controls Engineering. You will lead and collaborate with other engineers to plan, develop, and deliver software across the lifecycle.

The role requires 2+ years in embedded C/C++, RTOS, Linux, and hardware/software integration, with strong communication in cross-functional teams. In-office schedule is Monday through Friday in Carrollton.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering required; MS preferred.
  • 2+ years of embedded software development in C/C++.
  • Experience with RTOS, Linux, and hardware/software integration.
  • Ability to lead in a multi-site environment and drive tests.
  • Experience with security as it relates to firmware is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver embedded software products across the full lifecycle.
  • Ensure on-time, high-quality project deliverables.
  • Define technical requirements with customers and internal teams.
  • Help implement new processes and improvements.
  • Identify new technologies to expand IP and address customer needs.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and prototyping.

What Drives Success

Lennox is looking for a knowledgeable and talented Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop software components for our Controls Engineering organization. In this role, you will have an opportunity to lead and collaborate with other engineers to design, plan, develop, and maintain embedded software components.

Duties
  • Responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of embedded software products and components throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Responsible for project deliverables on time and with high quality.
  • Assure proper technical requirement definition with internal and external customers, marketing, manufacturing, and other support groups.
  • Actively participate in the definition and implementation of new processes and improvements.
  • Identify and create new technologies and ideas to increase the organization’s intellectual property and to better address customer needs.
  • Participate in technical feasibility analysis and prototyping activities.
What We Are Looking For
Education Requirements
  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent is required . MS is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • 2+ years of professional experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
  • Experienced in the architecture , design, hardware/software integration, and development of embedded software.
  • Experience and familiarity with modern control theory and applications.
  • Experience collaborating in multi-site software development teams and projects.
  • Ability to develop unit test driven software components.
  • Experience in technical leadership, project planning, and project tracking.
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) software development.
  • Experience in LINUX application process development.
  • Familiar with Embedded Security (firmware signing, secure boot, etc.).
  • Familiar with wireless technologies ( WiFi , BLE, BLE Mesh , etc . ).
  • Familiar with industry standard embedded design, object-oriented design and debugging tools (JTAG, protocol analyzers, emulators) .
  • Familiar with Configuration Management tools ( GIT or similar v ersion control, bug tracking, change management, automated builds, and coding standards) .
  • Familiarity with static and dynamic analysis software tools.
  • Experience developing in Iterative Software development processes.
  • Experience designing analog or digital circuits and control boards is a plus .
  • Familiarity with HVAC, Refrigeration , or similar control systems is a plus .
Teaming/Soft Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams (Hardware, Mechanical, Testing, Technical Support, Manufacturing) to deliver sound technical solutions to our customers.
  • Demonstrate ability to drive product and process improvements throughout the software organization.
  • Ability to work with third parties and offshore development teams as needed.
  • Self-driven, results oriented.
What We Offer
Compensation

This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $90,000-$117,600 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for the BroadBase Incentive (BBI) program with a target payout of 2%. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.

Location and Schedule

This position is located in Carrollton, TX and will be in the office Monday through Friday.

Paid Time Off
