Johnson Controls has a phenomenal opportunity for a Senior Software Test Engineer to join our team in New Freedom, PA, helping ensure the reliability and performance of our cutting-edge chiller products. You will lead testing efforts, mentor teams, and collaborate across functions to uphold high quality.

You should have a strong background in embedded systems, automated testing, and hands-on hardware testing with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years in software development and testing.
• 1+ years in manual testing, preferably automated testing.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with hardware testing and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG).
• Experience leading testing efforts for embedded systems.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident; sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of test plans and test cases for embedded software.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated and manual test frameworks and scripts.

• Conduct reviews of design and requirements to identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
• Analyze test results, report defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for identified issues.
• Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of new testing tools and methodologies.

What we look for:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of overall experience in software development and testing.
• 1+ years of hands‑on experience specifically in manual testing, preferably automated testing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
• Prior experience in leading testing efforts for complex embedded systems.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident. We cannot provide sponsorship for this position.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing automated testing solutions and frameworks.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $80,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflectsthe target compensation for this role.
