Job summary

Johnson Controls has a premier opportunity for a Senior Software Test Engineer in New Freedom, PA. You will lead testing efforts for embedded systems, develop automated tests, and mentor cross-functional teams to ensure top-quality products.

Candidates should have strong C/C++ and Python skills, hands-on hardware testing experience, and a track record in embedded software testing. Relocation or commuting distance to New Freedom is desired.

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS or EE.
• 2+ years in software development and testing.
• 1+ year in manual testing, preferably automated.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python.
• Experience with embedded systems testing.
• US citizenship or permanent residency; sponsorship not provided.

Position

Johnson Controls has a phenomenal opportunity for a Senior Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic in New Freedom, PA, to help ensure the reliability and performance of our cutting-edge Chiller products. Candidates must be commuting distance to New Freedom, PA, or able to relocate.

What You Will Do

You will play a critical role in the development and testing of our exciting embedded software systems! You will have the opportunity to lead testing efforts, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality. How You Will Do It

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and test cases for embedded software.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated and manual test frameworks and scripts to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate with software development teams to understand requirements and ensure testability.
• Conduct reviews of design and requirements to identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
• Analyze test results, report defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for identified issues.
• Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of new testing tools and methodologies.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of overall experience in software development and testing.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience specifically in manual testing, preferably automated testing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
• Prior experience in leading testing efforts for complex embedded systems.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident. We cannot provide sponsorship for this position.

Preferred

• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing automated testing solutions and frameworks.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $80,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
