Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to join our New Freedom, PA team. The role focuses on developing and testing embedded software for cutting-edge chiller products.

You will lead testing efforts, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure top-quality systems. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE and 2+ years in software development and testing, with 1+ year in manual and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required.
• 2+ years of overall experience in software development and testing.
• 1+ years hands-on experience in manual testing, preferably automated testing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
• Prior experience in leading testing efforts for complex embedded systems.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident; sponsorship cannot be provided.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test embedded software systems.
• Lead testing efforts, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for embedded software.
• Develop and maintain automated and manual test frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate with software teams to understand requirements and ensure testability.
• Review designs and requirements to identify potential issues early in development.
• Analyze test results, report defects, and drive timely resolutions.
• Participate in root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
