Job summary

Universal Instruments seeks an early-career software engineer to design and code subsystems for automated equipment. You will develop firmware for embedded systems and coordinate tasks across axes and IO while collaborating with EE/ME/Q&R teams in a hands-on lab setting.

Requirements include a B.Sc. in CS or EE with 0-2 years of experience and notable C/C++ proficiency. Travel to customer sites or conferences (<10%) may be required.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant major with 0-2 years of experience.
• Notable combination of software development experience and relevant education may be considered.
• Notable experience with C and/or C++.
• Highly flexible, quality driven, goal oriented and able to participate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and code software subsystems for automated equipment.
• Learn and integrate new hardware, software protocols, and engineering tools.
• Creative problem-solving and electronic diagnostic/troubleshooting abilities.
• Develop firmware for embedded systems, provide task coordination for axes and IO.
• Work with GIT and JIRA to collaborate with team members on project tasks.
• Collaborates with Electrical, Mechanical Engineering and Q&R on product performance requirements, design, test, and development activities.
