Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for EC2 Instance Networking to design, implement, and operate the software-defined networking stack used by millions of instances.

You will work on data plane software on custom hardware and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable VPC connectivity and security. The role requires strong C/Rust experience and a track record of guiding teams through complex, high-scale distributed systems with

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software development experience.
7+ years of programming with at least one programming language.
7+ years of leading design/architecture of systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor junior engineers on impactful projects.
Design and implement data plane networking software on custom hardware across full lifecycle.
Build and improve network virtualization systems delivering VPC connectivity and security.
Investigate and resolve complex production issues across distributed embedded systems.
Collaborate with partner teams across hardware, control plane, and ML platforms to deliver end-to-end solutions.
