Job summary

Envision Technology is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop, implement, debug, and test software for unmanned systems and defense platforms. You will work on flight and ground control software,-interface with cross-functional teams, and contribute to high-quality product delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++ skills, and familiarity with RTOS and hardware interfaces. Collaboration and problem-solving are essential in this defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience writing software for embedded systems; aviation systems control a plus.
• Strong C/C++ software development skills.
• RTOS experience with external hardware (EEPROM, FPGA, ASIC) is a plus.
• Experience with semi-autonomous and autonomous systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with I2C, UART, USB, MIPI and similar protocols.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Hands-on system integration and test experience.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative new product designs from concept through research & development to production.
• Interface with multi-discipline teams in a fast-paced environment (mechanical, electrical, systems, PMs, suppliers, customers).
• Develop new software code and implement software configuration and quality practices.
• Develop, configure, and install flight and ground control software for multiple platforms.
• Assist in selecting microprocessors and supporting devices (memory types and sizes).
• Work with electrical engineering to debug and troubleshoot complex hardware/software designs.
• Develop test infrastructure, write documentation, and ensure high performance.
• Apply strong critical thinking to address complex technical challenges.

About the Role

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the software development, implementation, debugging, and test of unmanned systems, subsystems, and test platforms for defense applications. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. Working alongside a collaborative team, you will help deliver the high quality products and innovative solutions that define Envision Technology.

• Assist in selecting microprocessors/microcontrollers and supporting devices (such as memory type and size).
• Work with electrical engineering to debug and troubleshoot complex electronic and software designs.

• Apply strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
