Embedded Software Engineer (Space & RF Systems), Between 140-200K Base + benefits, Torrance, LA

Embedded Software Engineers (as well as Ground Systems) sought for a fast-growth deep-tech company building advanced hardware and software systems for complex, mission-critical environments. Their technology is used in demanding real-world applications where reliability, performance and speed of deployment really matter. The team brings together expertise across embedded systems, software, networking and hardware, and is continuing to grow as its technology moves into increasingly sophisticated customer environments.

In this role, you will lead end-to-end software development for edge flight hardware, taking firmware and low-level platform code from initial concept and bench top bring-up through orbit-ready deployment. You will be responsible for ensuring ultra-reliable compute operation in extreme conditions - writing software that interacts directly with custom silicon, handling high-rate telemetry, and implementing autonomous self-healing features for when systems encounter unexpected operational faults in deep space or contested domains.

We are seeking a versatile embedded engineer who enjoys getting their hands dirty with hardware, schematics, and lab test tools while delivering production-grade C++ software. You will bridge the gap between digital design, RF engineering, and customer integration teams to ensure seamless platform operation.

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in developing embedded software
• Able to own a complete system across software aand everything it interfaces with
• Proficient with C++
• Experience developing embedded software on Linux platforms
• Able to troubleshoot technical issues across embedded hardware and software systems
• US Citizen or Green card Holder

Desired skills:

• Experience with network programming, including TCP/IP or socket programming
• Ground system experience
• Working knowledge of DSP/RF communications
