Job summary

Abbott in Irving, TX is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded software features using C/C++ for next‑generation medical diagnostic products. You will work with hardware, systems, and test engineers to deliver reliable solutions that meet customer and business needs.

In an Agile environment, you will perform troubleshooting, code reviews, create documentation and unit tests, and collaborate with global teams across time zones; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and developing complex software systems.
• Experience with C/C++ and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with test‑driven development.
• Experience with CI/CD practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience developing software with design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software features using C/C++.
• Debug software issues and support root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Create and maintain software documentation, unit tests, and development artifacts.
