Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Plymouth, MI is seeking an Embedded Software Developer with BMS expertise. The role focuses on design, development, and validation of automotive embedded software for EV/HEV battery systems. You will work with CAN/CAN FD, ECU diagnostics, and real-time systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Embedded C/C++, experience with automotive MCUs, and familiarity with AUTOSAR Classic, ISO 26262, and MISRA C/C++. Onsite collaboration with hardware teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Hands-on Embedded C/C++ programming experience.
• Experience with automotive ECUs and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with CAN/CAN FD and ECU diagnostics.
• Knowledge of real-time embedded software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for BMS.
• Implement SOC, SOH, SOP algorithms and cell balancing features.
• Develop low-level drivers, middleware, and HALs.
• Integrate software with battery monitoring ICs and ECUs.
• Axial debugging using CANoe/CANalyzer and similar tools.
• Follow AUTOSAR, ASPICE, and ISO 26262 standards.
• Perform unit tests, SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level validation.
• Participate in code and architecture reviews.
