Job summary

Istari is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with customer teams in aerospace and defense, delivering as part of their engineering core. You will architect and build integrations, write production-grade code, and ensure the platform adds measurable value in complex environments.

You’ll collaborate with customer program managers to align technical delivery with product strategy, contributing to internal reviews and roadmaps while shaping proposals for new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to defend architectural decisions.
• Hands-on experience with digital engineering toolchains: CAD, CFD, FEM.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments without heavy hand‑holding.
• Ability to work on-site with customers in a U.S. defense or aerospace context (clearance eligibility; active clearance a plus).
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Onsite Technical Delivery: embed with customer teams and architect integrations for Istari's platform.
• Software Development: write, test, and maintain integrations and workflows; produce reusable code.
• Feedback Loop to Product: translate field experience into actionable product insights and participate in roadmap discussions.
