Job summary

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to join our robotics team in a full-time, in-person role. You will develop, test, and optimize embedded firmware for a new robotic product, collaborating through GitHub, code reviews, and team communications.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in embedded C/C++, ARM MCU experience, and proficiency with RTOS, device drivers, and hardware interfaces.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years embedded C++/C experience.
  • 2 years ARM microprocessor experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent.
  • Experience writing device drivers.
  • Experience with multithreaded design.
  • Experience configuring, debugging, and profiling RTOS.
  • Makefiles or shell scripts build tools.
  • Git or SVN experience.
  • Ability to read datasheets and schematics.
  • Preferred: RTOS development with C++, GCC for ARM under Linux.
  • Preferred: ARM Cortex-M MCUs, GDB/SEGGER, priority configuration.

Responsibilities

  • We design, develop, and test embedded firmware for a new robotic product.
  • We collaborate closely with the team through GitHub issues, pull requests, projects, code reviews, instant messaging, and email.
  • We provide regular progress updates against key project deliverables.
  • We work independently with general guidance from our team leads.

Job description

Requirements
  • We are seeking an experienced embedded software engineer with strong embedded expertise for our robotics development team.
  • You should have at least 3 years of experience with embedded C++ and C.
  • You should have 2 years of experience with embedded ARM microprocessors.
  • You should have a bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • You should have experience writing device drivers.
  • You should have experience with multithreaded design.
  • You should have experience configuring, debugging, and profiling a real-time operating system (RTOS).
  • You should have experience creating or editing Makefiles, shell scripts, or similar build tools.
  • You should have experience working with Git or SVN.
  • You should be able to read datasheets and schematics.
  • Preferred experience includes RTOS development with C++, adapting C code for C++, and working in a GCC for ARM toolchain under Linux.
  • Preferred experience includes ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, debugging embedded systems with GDB and SEGGER tools, and configuring scheduler, task, and interrupt priorities.
  • Preferred experience includes strong object-oriented programming skills, especially design patterns and data structures.
  • Preferred experience includes integrating control code such as motor drivers, IMUs, gyroscopes, or accelerometers.
  • Preferred experience includes writing device drivers with DMA.
  • Preferred experience includes hands-on use of an oscilloscope for basic circuit troubleshooting.

We are an artificial intelligence and robotics company focused on developing our proprietary indoor SLAM technology and home robotic products.
