Job summary

Lumicity is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop the foundational software powering next‑generation robotic hardware. You will build high‑performance, safety‑critical, real‑time embedded systems that enable reliable, deterministic operation.

Responsibilities include creating RTOS-based control software, device drivers, BSPs for ARM64 platforms, and tooling for monitoring, OTA updates, and deployment. Collaboration with hardware and safety teams is essential in a fast-paced startup.

Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with RTOS, ARM64, multicore SoCs, and embedded C/Assembly.
  • Expertise in real-time scheduling, memory management, bootloaders, HAL/BSP development, and low-level debugging.
  • Experience with communication protocols including Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, SPI, and GPIO.
  • Familiarity with embedded toolchains, oscilloscopes, hardware debuggers, and static analysis tools.
  • Understanding of Functional Safety (FuSa), MISRA, and safety-compliant software development.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.

Job description

We’re seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop the foundational software powering next-generation robotic hardware. You’ll build high-performance, safety-critical, real-time embedded systems that enable reliable, deterministic operation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate safety-certified RTOS solutions (e.g. PX5, ThreadX, SafeRTOS) for robotic control hardware.
  • Design low-level software, device drivers, and BSPs for ARM-based embedded platforms.
  • Optimize real-time performance, deterministic execution, and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with hardware and functional safety teams to deliver safety-critical software.
  • Develop tooling for system monitoring, testing, OTA updates, calibration, and deployment.
  • Build scalable, reproducible build and test environments.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
