Job summary

Nickerson Talent Solutions is seeking an Embedded Software & Firmware Engineer to develop secure embedded software for defense systems, using Rust/C on ARM Cortex-M platforms.

The role focuses on modernizing legacy code, integrating firmware with hardware, and collaborating across cybersecurity and hardware teams in an onsite Tampa setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional Embedded Software or Firmware development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Embedded Rust and Embedded C.
• Experience developing software that runs directly on embedded hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software using Rust and Embedded C.
• Modernize legacy Embedded C applications by migrating them to Rust.
• Develop software for ARM Cortex-M processors, microcontrollers, and SoC platforms.
• Integrate software with firmware, hardware, and secure embedded systems.
• Debug low-level processor, memory, peripheral, and communication interface issues.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, systems, and cybersecurity engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

Salary: $100,000–$170,000 Base + 5% Bonus + Full Benefits + Relocation Assistance
