Job summary

General Motors is seeking a software engineer to design, develop and implement thermal management control and diagnostic algorithms for GM’s next generation EVs. You will translate functional requirements into robust software in MATLAB/Simulink or hand-coded C, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include creating and modifying unit and multi-component test cases, exploring new thermal systems, and supporting SIL/HIL testing in a hybrid work environment with 3 days

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience with C-language, Simulink, and embedded software development.

Job DescriptionDUTIES : Design, develop and implement thermal management control and diagnostic algorithms for GM’s next generation of EV vehicles. Work closely with multi-disciplined engineering teams to interpret functional requirements to translate and implement appropriate control and diagnostic strategies. Create and integrate software in either MATLAB Simulink models or hand-coded C. Create or modify Unit test cases and Multicomponent test cases to ensure thorough software testing. Explore and understand new thermal systems and requirements to enable controls and software development.10% travel to client sites domestically and internationally. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study. Four (4) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Associate Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineering Intern, Software Test Engineer or related occupation. OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study.
