Job summary

General Motors in Warren, MI is seeking an Infotainment Test Automation Engineer to validate platform performance through manual and automated tests across infotainment features.

The role requires a CS/EE background and 5 years in related QA roles (or 3 years with a Master’s), plus hands-on work with Android on embedded hardware and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll script in Python/Java/Kotlin and help promote builds weekly.

Qualifications

  • Degree in CS/IS/SE/EE or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of Infotainment Test Automation or related QA roles; or 3 years with Master's.
  • Experience testing Android-based apps on embedded systems and automotive testing.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and scripting (Python/Java/Kotlin).

Job description

Job DescriptionDUTIES : Responsible for executing both manual and automated test scripts to verify Infotainment functional and performance requirements on GMs infotainment platform. Configure benches to support specific test scenarios. Characterize and document defects including identifying steps to reproduce linking failures to requirements and collecting all associated test logs. Develop and update test cases as required. Support automation activities by implementing new scripts that will ensure robust features and interfaces. Interact with multiple engineering fields within the Software Defined Vehicle team to support defect resolution. Manage weekly build promotion including sanity test planning critical issue escalation and develop response to additional test requests.REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study. Five (5) years of experience as an Infotainment Test Automation Engineer, Software Quality Assurance Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. OR Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information System Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study. Three (3) years of experience as an Infotainment Test Automation Engineer, Software Quality Assurance Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. Three (3) years of experience in the following: Testing Android based Apps that work on an Embedded system; Software quality assurance and test experience in automotive industry; Automotive testing; Continuous Integration Testing under a CI/CD pipeline; Jenkins and CI/CD automation servers; Scrum and Agile Software development process; Flashing images and setting up hardware for embedded systems; and Vehicle communication network protocols including CAN, MOST, and Ethernet.
