Job summary

ITAC Solutions, LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking a hands-on engineer to develop, test, and modernize rugged embedded software and systems used in defense applications.

You will analyze legacy software and hardware interfaces, collaborate across engineering teams, and create tools for manufacturing, diagnostics, and validation while ensuring reliability for mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and embedded or rugged-electronics software background.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded systems and real-time software.
• Experience with hardware/software interfaces, device drivers, and real-time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software for embedded systems, military electronics, and automated test equipment.
• Analyze legacy software, firmware, and hardware interfaces for reverse-engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.
• Develop tools for manufacturing, diagnostics, and validation.
• Support requirements, architecture, coding, integration, verification, and sustainment.
• Create technical documentation and interface specifications.

Compensation

• $85,000-$150,000 annually, Depending on experience

What You'll Need to be Considered

• Hardware/software interfaces, device drivers, or real-time embedded experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
• Military/aerospace systems experience is highly valued.
