Job description

Embedded Software Developer (Electro-Optical PTZ Systems)

Infiniti Electro-Optics, a division of Ascendent Technology Group, is a leader in advanced surveillance solutions and high-end electro-optics systems. We are a dynamic, growing company that thrives on pushing technological boundaries. We foster an environment of initiative and critical thinking, providing opportunities for hands‑on skill development in the software behind embedded electronics and robotics. Our lean management structure promotes personal responsibility, allowing individuals to cultivate their unique expertise and advance into key roles. We value character and work ethic over formal education, seeking dedicated individuals to join our team and contribute to our technological vision in the realm of EO/IR PTZ systems.

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Developer to join our team and contribute to upcoming projects focused on the software development, integration, optimization, and production of our electro‑optical PTZ platforms. This software‑focused role centers on designing, writing, and refining the embedded firmware, real‑time control software, and application‑level code that drive our pan/tilt positioning, sensor integration, and control systems. Candidates with prior experience in embedded software development, real‑time control, motor‑control firmware, computer vision, electro‑optics, and video surveillance systems will be given extra consideration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for advanced electro‑optical PTZ systems, from low‑level device drivers and real‑time control loops through to application‑level services.
  • Develop and tune control algorithms for pan/tilt mechanisms, ensuring precise, responsive, and stable positioning and tracking.
  • Integrate and program a diverse range of electro‑optical sensors (visible/NIR, thermal MWIR/LWIR, and SWIR) with our embedded control platforms, including sensor interfacing, image/data pipelines, and calibration.
  • Implement and troubleshoot communication interfaces and protocols, including serial (RS232/RS422/TTL), TCP/IP networking, and video surveillance protocols such as ONVIF, RTSP, and Pelco D.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code, and contribute to code reviews, version control, and continuous improvement of our software practices.
  • Deliver consistent, reliable software quality by following coding and testing standards, and help refine those processes so quality stays repeatable as we scale production.
  • Proactively debug and resolve software issues and hardware/software‑interface discrepancies to maintain peak performance of electro‑optical systems.
  • Develop and curate detailed technical documentation, facilitating seamless knowledge transfer and supporting the effective deployment and maintenance of our electro‑optical PTZ platforms.
