Job summary

Wichita State University is seeking a part-time Embedded Security Student Assistant on the Wichita, KS campus. You will work with the research team on security assessments for embedded devices, including AI-assisted penetration testing, reverse engineering, and using standardized frameworks.

The role involves hands-on learning, contributing to vulnerability research, and developing proof-of-concept exploits while operating under class schedules. Minimum 20 hours/week; on-site campus position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fundamental understanding of AI/ML, cybersecurity, embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing attacks against embedded devices.
• Support research into AI-assisted security frameworks.
