Job summary

Wichita State University seeks a Human Factors in Cybersecurity Student Assistant to assist with designing and implementing web interfaces, surveys, and data analysis for human subject experiments.

You will work closely with the research development team, gaining hands-on experience in designing interfaces, running experiments, and analyzing results, while collaborating with experts across AI/ML, cybersecurity, and IoT domains.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with ability to learn new technologies quickly with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.

Job Story

The Human Factors in Cybersecurity Student Assistant will work directly with the research development team to support the design and implementation of human subject experiments. This role offers hands‑on experience with designing and implementing web interfaces, designing surveys, and analyzing data. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and execution of experiments with human subjects.

Job Summary

A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference for completion of at least one cybersecurity course and one human factors course.
• Experience building websites or other coding projects.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis such ANOVA.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
