Job summary

The Judge Group seeks a Software Engineer with strong Rust expertise and hands-on embedded systems experience to support full‑stack development across low‑level device integration and higher‑level application interfaces.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and application teams to build reliable, high‑performance systems for scientific instrumentation, with front‑end tooling support when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Rust development in the industry.
• Experience with embedded Rust and/or C++.
• Familiarity with gateware development and hardware/software integration (FPGA‑based).
• Frontend: JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar frameworks.
• Embedded Linux development and debugging experience.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, Ethernet, and other system‑level interfaces.
• Strong memory safety, concurrency, and performance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware, physicists, and software developers to deliver fully integrated product solutions.
• Maintain clear documentation of designs, workflows, and processes.
• Contribute to Rust‑based middleware and driver software for device control.
• Partner with hardware and FPGA teams to build software drivers and embedded interfaces.
• Develop and maintain system APIs and communication layers.
• Assist frontend tooling for visualization and user interfaces when needed.
• Write clean, well‑tested, well‑documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
