Job summary

Talon Professional Services seeks an experienced Embedded Risk Manager to join the IT Infrastructure team on a hybrid 3 days onsite basis in Jersey City, NJ. This 12‑month contract to direct‑hire role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across networks, storage, and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years in infrastructure risk, engineering, cybersecurity, or related disciplines, with strong governance and leadership capabilities to communicate KPI/ KRI

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Risk Manager to join a leading organization’s IT Infrastructure team. This pivotal role involves collaborating closely with infrastructure leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all enterprise infrastructure domains, including networks, storage, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, deep technical expertise, and a proactive approach to strengthening our client’s control environment and ensuring operational resilience.

Required Skills

• Extensive hands‑on experience with key infrastructure components such as networks, storage, and cloud migration projects
• Proven ability to evaluate and enhance infrastructure controls
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management, incident response, access controls, and data protection
• Excellent communication skills to interpret and convey KPIs, KRIs, and KCIs to diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership in risk advisory, governance, and control practices within complex environments

Nice to Have Skills

• Prior experience within the financial services industry
• Familiarity with U.S. regulatory standards such as FFIEC frameworks

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure risk, engineering, cybersecurity, or related disciplines
