Job summary

The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh seeks a Resiliency Automation Engineer to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded software across development, verification, and operations teams. You will automate static analysis, build and deployment processes, and promote code quality and security in a regulated environment.

Travel up to 25% to sponsor sites and conferences is required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Computer Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience; OR MS with 5 years; OR PhD with 2 years.
  • Willing to travel 25% to SEI offices, sponsor sites, conferences, and offsite meetings.
  • Subject to background investigation and ability to obtain DoW security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows for embedded software projects written in C, C++ and Java.
  • Integrate and manage static analysis tools to monitor code quality, enforce coding standards, and identify defects early in the lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with development and verification leads to incorporate automated test, build, and deployment processes into embedded firmware and software systems.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Docker and Kubernetes for test, staging, and production environments.
