Job summary

Archer Aviation, headquartered in Silicon Valley, is seeking a hands-on Embedded Software Engineer to build high‑reliability real‑time systems on Embedded Linux platforms. You will write modern C++ for Linux targets and Python for test automation in a hardware-heavy environment.

Responsibilities include driver development, hardware bring-up, and ensuring safety with defensive coding. Experience with CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UART and real-time constraints is valued.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (11/14/17/20).
• Fluency in Python and Bash for data manipulation, testing, and prototyping.
• Solid understanding of Embedded Linux and shell usage.
• Real-time constraints and resource constrained hardware experience.
• Familiarity with Yocto, GTest, CMake; Ansible is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Embed software for Embedded Linux platforms in real-time systems.
• Write drivers and manage communications over CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UART.
• Work within an Agile sprint driven framework.
• Troubleshoot hardware integration using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Design software with a safety-first mindset for deterministic behavior.
