Horizon Hobby, a leader in the global RC industry, hires a mid‑level Firmware Engineer for on‑site work in Champaign, IL. You will develop embedded firmware for RC transmitters, receivers, ESCs, and sensors, collaborating with hardware and product teams to improve performance and reliability.

You’ll work on control link logic, telemetry handling, and power‑ management while partnering with RF engineers to optimize range and robustness.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of embedded firmware development in C/C++.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, real‑time systems, and low‑level drivers (SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, ADC).
• Ability to read schematics and understand hardware interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Firmware development for RC electronics and embedded systems.
• Hardware integration with electrical engineers during board bring‑up.
• RF system support and integration with RF modules.
• Testing, debugging and validation with lab equipment.
• Field and bench validation of firmware in real‑world RC environments.
