Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Security Engineer (Embedded OT) to join the Information Security team in Hawthorne, CA. The role focuses on behind-the-scenes security of networks, systems, and data with high-risk, high-importance services.

You will design and maintain security tooling, including authentication, identity services, and cloud security policy enforcement, while collaborating across IT, security, legal, and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or STEM or 2+ years security software development experience.
• Experience with Python, Go, C/C++, C#, or Rust for security tooling.
• Experience designing security solutions for OSs or large-scale infra.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain security solutions for SpaceX systems, networks, and data.
• Implement authentication, identity services, and MFA-related work across environments.
• Automate identity lifecycle management and develop reusable infrastructure.
• Oversee network security tooling and application-level controls like WAFs.
• Ensure cloud deployments meet security policy and configuration standards.
• Act as SME, document solutions, and advise teams on technologies and operations.
• Collaborate with security, IT, HR, legal, software, and other teams to strengthen tooling.
