Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Security Engineer (Embedded & Networking) to design, build, and operate security solutions protecting SpaceX systems, networks, and data. The role emphasizes authentication, identity services, automation, and secure cloud deployments as part of a mission to enable human life off Earth.

The engineer will work across IT and security teams, implement key security controls, and drive scalable, maintainable security tooling while adhering to SpaceX standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or STEM or 2+ years security software experience.
• Experience with security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra.
• Knowledge of PKI, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain security solutions for SpaceX systems, networks, and data.
• Implement authentication, identity services, and automation across platforms.
• Develop network security and backend infrastructure for security services.
• Enforce security controls for web apps (e.g., WAFs) and cloud deployments.
• Act as SME for security solutions and document underlying technologies.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and other teams to reduce risk and improve deployments.
