Job summary

MaziCTools is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the MLRS team in Huntsville, AL. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and debugging electronic and electro-mechanical systems with low-level control processing.

Candidates should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and be willing to learn in an agile environment; cross-training in MLRS will be provided. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity at Redstone Arsenal.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering is required; 0 years experience accepted.
• Ability to creatively problem solve, learn new skills (ADO, CAD), and communicate/articulate solutions to management.
• Candidate will be flexible and willing to learn in an agile environment.
• An understanding of the MLRS system will be achieved through cross training in various roles.

Responsibilities

• This candidate will design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that require low level control processing (Interrupts, Timers Digital I/O and serial communication protocols) for electronic, electro-mechanical, or electro-optic equipment.
• Aid in the development of embedded software for use on real-time and near real-time operating systems and processors including networking and radio systems.
• Requires basic knowledge of reading schematics of complex electronic assemblies.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions.
• Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
• Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors.
• Works under general direction on routine work.
• May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Follows established procedures.
• Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.
• Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
• Operate as a hybrid engineer for the Tools and Trainers (TnT) team.
• Candidate will learn the test asset environment thereby becoming a contributor to solution development and implementation.
