Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Texas is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop robust Linux-based embedded software for in-car video systems and body cameras, covering architecture through unit testing. The role focuses on modern C++ development and system integration on production hardware.

You will work in an Agile environment, author and refine user stories, run unit and system tests, and contribute to a scalable CI/CD build pipeline.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of C++ development with hands-on Linux-based embedded systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Preferred: experience with Bare Metal C, Linux kernel drivers, device trees, and Yocto.
• Familiarity with RTOS considerations, networking protocols, and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Exposure to Linux UI or Android development and Open Source tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, code, and maintain embedded software applications using modern C++.
• Work with vendor APIs/SDKs, define clean interfaces, and debug complex system-level issues.
• Participate in Agile sprint planning, execute unit and system tests, and support CI/CD.
• Contribute to reusable code and scalable maintenance across production hardware.
