Job summary

Chariot Defense is looking for an Embedded Linux Engineer to lead the software platform development at their San Bruno, CA, office. In this role, you will be responsible for getting Linux to run on custom hardware while working closely with firmware and hardware teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with embedded Linux, C/C++, and hardware bring-up. The position offers a salary range of $130,000–$180,000 annually, including benefits and early-stage equity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and shipping embedded Linux on custom hardware.
• Proven board bring-up experience.
• Fluent in the embedded Linux toolchain.

Responsibilities

• Take freshly fabricated carrier boards to reliably boot.
• Configure the Linux kernel for specific hardware.
• Build and deploy with Nix/NixOS.
