Lexar Enterprise, a leader in memory and storage solutions, is seeking an embedded Linux/Android systems engineer in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on development, testing, and integration of tiered memory systems on real hardware.

The candidate will build Android kernel/images, run experiments, collect performance data, and create scripts. 3–6 years in related fields and a BS/MS in CS or equivalent are expected.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of embedded Linux, Android, firmware, BSP, or systems software experience.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Shell scripting experience; Python is a plus.
  • Experience working with real hardware.
  • Familiarity with Linux kernel concepts such as drivers, sysfs, procfs, memory, block devices, or device trees.
  • Comfortable using source control, build systems, and command-line tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build and flash Android kernel and platform images.
  • Support development of memory, swap, zram/zswap, or platform configuration features.
  • Run experiments on real devices and collect logs, counters, and performance data.
  • Write or maintain shell and Python scripts for setup, testing, and analysis.
  • Debug issues using ADB, fastboot, dmesg, logcat, sysfs, and procfs.
  • Help maintain device setup instructions and validation checklists.
  • Implement well-scoped kernel, userspace, or automation changes under senior guidance.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands‑on embedded Linux or Android systems engineer to support development, testing, and integration of a tiered memory system.

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys low‑level systems work, is comfortable around real hardware, and wants to grow deeper into Linux kernel and Android platform development. You will work closely with senior engineers and help implement features, run experiments, collect data, and debug device issues.

Primary responsibilities
  • Build and flash Android kernel and platform images.
  • Support development of memory, swap, zram/zswap, or platform configuration features.
