Job description

A leader in memory solutions we deliver best‑in‑class products. For consumers and businesses alike, we have committed ourselves to quality, performance, and customer service. It is our mission to design a broad range of memory solutions focused on high performance, exceptional reliability, and outstanding customer service. We provide our partners with top‑notch services, from instant technical support and professional services to streamlined and efficient delivery processes that leverage our many years of experience. Our cutting‑edge products drive higher performance, increase efficiency, and deliver unwavering reliability. Our continued commitment to innovation ensures we are positioned to deliver superior solutions for our customers, partners, and communities.

About the Role

We are looking for a senior technical leader to help define and drive the architecture for a new tiered memory system for Android and embedded Linux devices.
This person will guide the technical direction across Linux memory management, compressed memory, swap, Android platform behavior, storage-backed memory, and real‑device performance. The right candidate should be both architectural and hands‑on — someone who can reason about the full system, review kernel code, debug difficult issues, and mentor the rest of the team.

Primary responsibilities
  • Define the architecture for a tiered memory system using technologies such as zram, zswap, swap, cgroups, and storage‑backed memory.
  • Lead design discussions around memory policy, app-priority behavior, read/write paths, storage placement, and prefetch strategies.
  • Review kernel and Android platform changes for correctness, performance, maintainability, and production readiness.
  • Help the team understand tradeoffs between latency, memory capacity, NAND endurance, CPU usage, and user experience.
  • Work closely with kernel, Android platform, validation, and storage engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership for a small, focused engineering team.
  • 10+ years of experience in Linux kernel, Android kernel, embedded Linux, firmware, or platform architecture.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Linux memory management, swap, reclaim, page faults, and cgroups/memcg.
  • Strong C programming and kernel debugging background.
  • Experience working with real hardware, not just simulation or emulation.
  • Ability to debug complex cross-layer issues involving kernel, Android userspace, storage, and performance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with zram, zswap, compressed memory, or swap optimization.
  • Android GKI/KMI experience.
  • Android phone, TV, tablet, or embedded product experience.
  • UFS, eMMC, NAND, FTL, HPB, WriteBooster, or storage QoS experience.
  • Experience with Android LMKD, app lifecycle, or system performance tuning.
