Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to define, build, and support system design, architecture, and software for Ring IoT products. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver features throughout the agile SDLC, from design through operations.

You will own embedded software in C/C++, participate in design reviews, and help drive overall system design and interoperability.

Qualifications

3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
2+ years of experience with networking concepts, WiFi, VLAN, LTE, APN, AT modem commands, interfaces, routers, network packets, Unix sockets API.

Responsibilities

Dive deep and work to help solve critical design issues involving algorithms and hardware/firmware interfaces.
Participate in design reviews for complex embedded systems and software development.
Influence within your team and partner teams to drive and develop the technical implementation for overall system designs.
Identify and implement process improvements to improve your team’s agility (design, automation, development, test or ops).
Define/refine system requirements and contribute to interoperability features like health monitoring, diagnostics, repair, and self‑healing automation.
Develop embedded software in C/C++.
