Embedded IoT / Edge Solutions Sales Representative, Manager and Director

Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in enterprise initiatives such as cloud, data science, AI, engineering, and IoT. Our customers include top public cloud and silicon providers, as well as industry leaders across sectors. We operate with a distributed team of 1200+ colleagues across 75+ countries, with few office roles, meeting in person a few times yearly.

We are hiring Embedded IoT / Edge Solutions Sales professionals at various levels to expand into industries like Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco. Candidates should be technically skilled, familiar with embedded Linux and RTOS, and open to working across time zones. We will also hire Sales Managers and Regional Directors for leadership roles.

Our IoT offerings include Ubuntu Core, emphasizing security and resilience for connected devices. Our sales role focuses on prospecting, strategic account development, and selling open source solutions to organizations developing embedded software and IoT devices. Success requires comfort in positioning our solutions at all organizational levels and understanding key sectors.

We aim to build trusted, profitable relationships with brands in your territory, requiring proactive outreach, industry engagement, and effective pipeline management. Candidates should be able to travel regionally and internationally, with a focus on developing new business and maintaining existing relationships. The role involves managing a sales quota, working with marketing, and collaborating with technical teams to meet customer needs.

Location: We are expanding in EMEA, APAC, and the Americas.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Building and executing a territory plan targeting security-focused brands and manufacturers.
  2. Collaborating with marketing to promote our brand and increase awareness.
  3. Developing pipeline through outreach, prospecting, and industry events.
  4. Closing contracts to meet sales targets and strategic objectives.
  5. Managing customer relationships throughout the sales cycle.
  6. Working with IoT Field Engineers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  7. Maintaining accurate sales data and forecasts.
  8. Building relationships with key influencers and decision-makers.
  9. Coordinating with colleagues across support, delivery, and management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong academic background and technical degree (preferably in a technical field).
  • Experience in field sales of embedded Linux, embedded software, or enterprise software.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing large accounts.
  • Passion for technology, with personal projects or initiatives as evidence.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, and adaptability.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including international trips.
  • Ability to develop and execute effective sales plans.
