Job summary

SPACEX is developing Starmind, a constellation of satellites to capture solar energy in space to power AI compute for Earth. As an Embedded Controls Engineer on the Starmind GNC team, you will work on vehicle design trades, simulations, flight software, and deployment of features in space.

You will design control systems for solar array actuators, attitude control, and propulsion-related systems, with a focus on robust, precise pointing and high-bandwidth performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, physics or an engineering discipline required.
• Experience with designing and analyzing closed-loop control systems.
• Strong C++ software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, and implementation of electromechanical control systems (solar array actuators, antenna gimbals, high-bandwidth optics).
• Design and implement satellite attitude control and momentum management systems.
• Develop high-fidelity simulations in C++, Python, MATLAB; integrate with analysis tools.
